Lillian’s POV
“Lillian, you have to stop crying.” Arsenio sighed beside me and wiped away my tears. I had returned to the palace and was in my room.
Ever since the banquet last night, all I have done is cry over what happened. Mom’s betrayal deeply hurt me. If anyone could betray me, I never thought it would be her. I never believed it was possible, but she stood before everyone, loud and clear, and denied me as her daughter.
I sobbed bitterly, and Aldrich wrapped his arm around my shoulders, pulling me into his chest. “Listen to Arsenio and stop crying, Lillian,” he whispered.
“I don’t want you to feel like you have no one on your side. You have my brother and me. We are with you no matter what, and to us, you’re our true princess. It doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks. We love you for who you are.” He placed
