The news of Aurora’s demise spread across the country on the second day of her princess coronation.

I didn’t find it strange that such a thing could happen. She was with Hermes and the nefarious Alpha Jenkins; there was no way she could have escaped being harmed when she was clearly being used by them.

With the assistance of my allies, I returned to the palace.

Hermes had already proclaimed himself King. I expected it to happen and wasn’t surprised. It had been his plan, and Aurora was dead. He had to take the throne. Even if he wasn’t proclaimed King by the Council of Elders, he could do it himself, since they appeared to be somewhat afraid of him.

He didn’t need them to get what he wanted, and he had proved it.
