Chapter 10. You Look Troubled

Rufus’s POV

“Its cold out there,” I said, grabbing the knitted blanket from the back of the sofa, I wrapped it around Freya’s shoulders. “Get comfortable, I’ll make us a drink.”

The sprint back through the forest had sent chills through both of us it seemed, and even after pulling the thick jumper over my body, I could still feel myself shudder.

“Thanks, Rufus,” Freya gave me the sweetest smile as I watched her hug the blanket around her body, she took a seat on the sofa.

I felt a warmth fill my chest, it had been a while since I had been able to spoil someone, and give her the care and attention she needed. But I had to bring myself back to reality, Freya wasn’t the one I got to feel this way with. I had to be strong.

“I’d love a hot chocolate,” Freya called from the sofa area. “If you have any that is.”

I smiled as I turned to look at Freya, I admired her confidence. “One hot chocolate coming right up. With cream and marshmallows?”
