Rufus’s POV
“Nathan Luddington,” I said, roaring down the phone. “You need to get your sorry ass here now!” I was willing to be either polite or patient with this man any longer.
“Rufus?” Nathan asked. “I thought I recognized that grumpy voice,” He chuckled. “What have I done this time?”
“What haven’t you done?” I asked, a growl simmering in my throat. “I just happened to have your dear old Mother at my door, and I want her gone.”
“Oh,” Nathan’s tone seemed to change and seriousness sounded in his voice. “How much did she tell you?” His voice shook with fear, as it should.
“Elaine told me enough,” I said. “Enough to make me hate you even more than they did,” I paused, trying to keep my composure. “Just come and collect her from my home, before I throw her out on the street.”
