Rufus’s POV

“Honey, I want to be honest with you,” I said, poking my breakfast eggs with a fork as I sat opposite my beautiful wife.

“Sure,” Freya said with a smile before popping a forkful of scrambled egg into her mouth. As she chewed, I could see she was waiting on my next words.

I shifted on my seat, thinking of a way to break this news as best as I could. “You see, I’ve decided I am going back to see Hazel,” I paused, watching Freya’s face fall with disappointment. “I need to fathom out this curse and get it removed, any way I can!” I said, my voice raised in desperation.

Sienna joined us at the table, sliding her plate of eggs and bacon to her position. “Yeah, I tried to talk him about of it Frey,” she said, shoving a mouthful of eggs in. “But he just won’t listen,” she paused to swallow. “So I’m going with him.”
