Freya’s POV

“Today’s been a long day Princess,” Rufus husked as he ran his fingers carefully through my hair. “Why not run yourself a bath before bed, we can have an early night,” His soothing voice danced on my ears, and I felt all of my fears melt away from the deep tones of his words. I knew no matter what, Rufus would always take care of me.

“That sounds perfect,” I said, a smile shaping my lips and I could tell by the cheeky smile that Rufus flashed to me, he wasn’t intending on an early night. “Come up to bed when you’re done down here?” I missed Rufus already, and he hadn’t even left my side yet. I couldn’t wait to get into bed with him and settle for the evening. Just being in his arms, falling asleep as he held me tight was the most comforting thought.

“Of course beautiful,” Rufus said, pulling me close to his body as he wrapped his arms around me. “I’ll switch the lights off down here and lock the door. I think we’re done with surprise visitors ton
