Chapter 44. Falling Apart

Rufus’s POV

It was a little while longer, in fact hours before I returned home. I had to process what had happened, and while I couldn’t face seeing Mia’s grave defaced like it was, I knew I had to go back and restore it eventually.

I had driven around the countryside for a while, the heating turned on to dry me off as I enjoyed the relaxing sound of the rain against my windows. But the encounter with Nathan still niggled at the back of my mind.
