Chapter 43. The Grave
Rufus’s POV
I couldn’t deny the shame I felt for hurting Freya once again, it seemed all I did lately was let her down. I knew I was a disappointment to her, my head was so messed up I didn’t know which direction to take.
‘You’re not a disappointment’ Silver whispered in my mind ‘You’re just being cautious, don’t beat yourself up.’
‘I know,’ I said with a raspy sigh ‘But I’m driving Freya away, and if I’m not careful she will turn and leave, forever.’
Silver chuckled ‘You’re probably right, I was just trying to be sympathetic. You’re an ass who is being given too many chances with the woman you were destined to be with. You’re an insult to the Moon Goddess, you know that?’
‘Usually I appreciate your honesty’ I said as I stormed through the rain, my eyes focused on the front door of my home ‘But right now, could you be a bit less honest and tell me what I want to hear?’
‘Hmmm,’ Silver said as he pondered ‘Why not, everything is fine and you’
