Chapter 66. Loyal Servant

Miatta's POV

I was both surprised and confused when Beta Logan threw himself in between me and the incoming guards. Lucas was equally confused, a furrow present on his brow. 

I don’t know what he is doing either, I assured him and in the same guise, vindicated myself. Beta Logan on the other hand still held off the guards in mid-motion. The Lycan King abandoned his throne and came down to stand before his Beta. His other cohorts stood aside, wanting no involvement in whatever was going on.

“Logan! What is this?!” he roared, his glance heated from his blazing anger. “Step out of the way so I can punish this wastrel as it pleases me. Do you dare to stand in the way of my justice?”

“Please, hold off your guards, Master. You would kill me first before they harm the wolf behind me,” Beta Logan declared, his left hand still held up like a shield. Instinctively, I hid behind him, and internal battle going on within the walls of my body
