Miatta's POV
He was deathly still for a minute on his knees but I knew he had heard me. I wasn't going to repeat myself and I wasn't going to force him to do what he didn't want to.
"What kind of proof do you want?" he mumbled in a voice I could not recognize. His gaze dropped to the ground, his thick locks falling forward. I knew how cold the ground was because I had been sitting on it but kneeling would feel worse.
Did I care? Maybe. Would I tell him? No.
"I'm sure you can come with something. If not, go away and leave me alone. I have bigger problems as it is."
