“Well, well,” Zack said, eyeing the gun in my trembling hands.

A trickle of blood still ran down his temple as his lips curled into that infuriating smirk.

“Go ahead, pull that trigger. But then what, Silvia?” He emphasized with mocking venom.

“This yacht only responds to my voice commands. Shoot me, and you’re just signing up for a one-way cruise to the middle of nowhere.”

He gestured around the empty deck with exaggerated nonchalance, like we were discussing vacation plans instead of my potential death.

“No cell service out here. No way to call your precious Alpha. Just you and the Atlantic until the fuel runs dry.” His eyes glittered with dark satisfaction as he watched my confidence waver. “And trust me, sweetheart, the sharks will find you long before anyone else does.”

My fingers tightened on the gun, but doubt had already crept in.
