Chapter 19. Favoritism

Derek's POV.

"Now, Derek," he growled, his voice low and menacing.

I hesitated, my anger and pride still simmering, but I knew better than to disobey the Alpha. With a snarl, I released Richard, shoving him away from me.

"This isn't over," I snarled, my eyes locked on Richard.

"What had come over you, Derek? Is this how you treat your elder brother? You can't even show some respect?" my father roared, his face red with anger.

I raised my voice, "Oh please, the last time I checked, dad, this was my room! So obviously, he came to look for trouble!"

My father's expression turned even darker. "So you are raising your voice at me, Derek? Right?" he spat, his voice tinged with hatred.

I stared at my father, wondering why he hated me so much. Was I not his own blood? Did I beg him to cheat with my mother? Why do I now take all the punishment for their actions? The questions swirl
