Chapter 143. The Mating Chaos

The Alphas waiting by the road jerked in surprise and alertness at the sudden climate change. It began with a slow rumble of thunder, and then the temperature dropped to an incredibly low level in an instant. An angry bolt of white, fiery lightning struck the forest, and a tree fell violently. Then, the snow began falling rapidly, as if the gates withholding it in the sky had just been thrown open.

The most frightening part of all was the sudden burst of flaming heat, like a detonated bomb emerging from the forest, knocking down trees as it expanded and setting an incessant flame to whatever stood in its path.
