Daciana turned sharply as soon as she heard his voice.

Lucien stood there with a pitiful look on his face. Her heart went out to him.

She had been lost in thought when the woman told her the truth, and the sound of Lucien's voice jolted her back to reality.

The truth was enlightening but it didn't make her feel a whole lot better just lightly. She still needed to hear it from him but now that he was standing in front of her.

She was angry.

When she saw his face, however, all her previous thoughts vanished.

She had never seen him look so vulnerable before. For a moment, she forgot all her anger and resentment towards him.
