Chapter 69. First Shift

"You'll be fine," Sean said, reaching to grasp my hand. I smiled and nodded. We were headed to a forest outside town. It was the first full moon since Ariel had awakened, and I was supposed to have my first shift tonight.

I nodded. "Yeah. I'm just nervous."

"What about?" he asked me.

I sighed and nibbled on my lip. "What if I can't?"

"Shift?" he clarified.

"Why wouldn't you? Your wolf is awake now. There's nothing to worry about," he reassured me.
