Chapter 72. Was I Too Late?

"Are you going to say anything or not?" I demanded, looking at Ivy and waiting for her answer. Why was she here with Ezra? Why had she let him touch her? We'd talked about this, hadn't we? She'd said she'd let him go, that I was the only one she loved. So what the hell had I just walked in on?

She looked at me wordlessly, as if she had nothing to say. I watched as tears gathered in her eyes before streaming down her cheeks. What was she crying for? Why was she saying nothing? Was she sad that she'd been caught?

Before I could say anything else, she rushed past me and towards the door. My heart clenched as fury mixed with heartache and frustration. I had to get her answer, no matter what.
