Chapter 67

Josh’s POV

Lana’s apartment door seemed more intimidating than usual, but I had to see her. Matt and I had convinced Lana to see a therapist, and this was our chance to check in on her progress. We cared about her well-being and wanted to support her in any way we could.

I took a deep breath and knocked on the door. A few seconds later, Lana opened it, and I couldn’t help but notice the change in her demeanor. She looked calmer, more at peace than I had seen her in a long time. It was as if a weight had been lifted off her shoulders.

“Hey, Lana,” I greeted her with a genuine smile. “How are you doing after your first session with the therapist?”

She stepped aside, allowing me to enter her apartment. “I’m doing better, Josh. The session was helpful. It made me realize that I’ve been in a bad place, and I need to work on myself.”

I felt relieved to hear her say that. It was a positive step towards healing, both for her and for those she had hurt. M
