Chapter 36

He thanked his stars for Amber and kept hoping she could find incriminating evidence against Richard and the hospital so that his name could be cleared once again. But Richard had beat him again at having a free life. 

"Richard probably has connections in the government. They sent me a letter and a cheque. They are buying me out. They even threatened me, they mentioned thee would be consequences if I did not adhere to the instructions. I am supposed to clear out my office today. What do I do? I have been sitting in here for the past one hour, just confused." Amber speaks bitterly about her situation and Jacob is saddened by this. 

"You can not give up now. You have come this far. You know the truth. You can still strike back, beat them at their own game. It is not over yet." Jacob tries to encourage her, so she can get out of her pity party. He also needs her for his freedom and he is not about to lose his only hope on that just yet. "I am no longer an officer.
