Chapter 127. Shots
Aaron POV
She didn’t eat much, which was understandable given the situation and the environment we were in.
She just picked at her food and stared into nothing. I sat across from her, watching her carefully.
Jeremy walked in at that moment, and her eyes snapped up almost immediately, darting toward the door.
Panic flared in her eyes for a brief second before her gaze landed on me, and she relaxed just a little. I gave her a small nod.
It was comforting that she saw safety in me. It had taken time and effort to get to this point, but it was worth every second.
Seeing those green eyes soften just because I was in the room tugged at something deep in my chest, and fuck me if I didn’t keep this woman safe.
I’d promised to give her the world. That wouldn’t be possible if she didn’t make it out of this alive.
