The ride was quiet in that warm, comforting way. I had never felt so relaxed and at peace in a long time.
Jeremy’s hand loosely held mine across the console, thumb drawing lazy circles on my palm as we drove through the city.
My cheek rested against the window, watching buildings roll by until the car slowly pulled into a space beside a boutique named ‘Sẽra’—so grand I thought my eyes were deceiving me. Wide glass, gold handles, mannequins dressed like expensive runway models.
I blinked.
“Uh… Jer? Are we… here?”
He unbuckled, glanced at me with that small, boyish smirk. “Yeah.”
I looked from him to the boutique again. “Why are we here?”
He rounded the car, opened my side, and offered his hand. “Because I’m taking you to dinner tonight,” he said simply, like that wasn’t the kind of sentence that could make someone’s heart stumble. “It’s our first real date. I want you looking like the entire world belongs at your fee
