Chapter 80. Crumbling
Teyana’s POV
“Help!” I shouted as I shook my mother’s unconscious body with shaky hands.
Everything that happened afterwards was a blur. Garret, one of the security staff, was now helping me to carry her into her car after fumbling with the car keys, my hands trembling so bad I almost dropped them. The other staff hovered over us but he told them to stay back.
I couldn’t hear what they were all saying. I was losing it.
The drive to the hospital felt like a nightmare I couldn’t wake up from. My heart kept screaming that this couldn’t be happening.
“Mum, stay with me. Please stay with me,” I kept whispering, holding her to myself in the backseat as Garret sped off.
When we finally got to the hospital, two nurses came rushing out with a stretcher. Garret helped them lift her out, and I followed close behind, my voice trembling as I spoke. “She was fine yesterday—she was fine!”
