Chapter 3

Leila’s POV

“Bradley, do you mind if we share one room?” Eunice’s words echoed through the room as she pleaded her case.

The sound of the woman’s voice, imploring Bradley Silva to just let her be with him in a room, was something Leila couldn’t believe! She will not go to that level of decency and beg to be noticed by him.

“Leila, how many chambers are there inside this house?” From nowhere, Bradley asked.

“Throughout the entire house? I can’t be certain, but I think it’s around ten or twelve.” I answered. And my uncertainty was obvious in my tone. “The workers’ room isn’t part of my calculation.”

“And how many are actually in use?” Bradley’s questions don’t stop.

“Three,” I said quickly because there were only three of us in the house. And because he arrived, we now had four people, not including Eunice.

“How is that relevant to the arrangement between us occupying the same space?” Eunice asked her question with a sneer on her face.

“Nothing. I simply wanted to let you know we don’t have to share because our house is large enough to accommodate you,” Bradley explained.

I couldn’t suppress a smile at Bradley’s obvious refusal.

“Bradley, we already share a room in my house, so what’s the big deal here?” Eunice asked again.

I waited for Bradley to invalidate what Eunice uttered, but he stayed quiet. It is an undeniable truth that they are occupying a single room.

“Since you haven’t decided, you can use this room,” I said, motioning to the room.

“Great, then we’ll put this room to use!” Eunice eagerly enters the room.

“If you need help, approach my doorway. It’s at the end of the corridor,” I stated.

When Eunice gave me a nod, I immediately left. Because of the jealousy that had suddenly imprisoned me, I didn’t even bother to look at Bradley.

“Leila Aragon, what exactly is wrong with you?! Don’t tell me you’re envious of them.” I let out a roar.

“This mate bond is a sham! What type of lunacy is this?! Is Bradley truly my mate? My brother! I’ll be even delighted if you give me the insignificant in the pack; at the very least, it won’t be an issue!” As soon as I walked into the room, I started complaining to myself.

I traversed around my bedroom for a few minutes before resolving to get dressed when someone banged on my door. Because I assumed it was my younger brother, I did not bother to finish dressing and simply wrapped a towel around my body.

“What exactly do you want, kid?” I inquired, although I had not seen my youngest brother because I had turned my back on the door.

“Hmm, is this how you greet your brother?” Bradley points out a reason for me to come to a halt on my walk.

I’m undecided if I should confront him or run to the restroom in shame.

“Leila, you don’t need to do this because my wolf is already crazy with you,” Bradley said, clenching his fist.

“Could you elaborate on what you are implying? I thought Zeke was knocking, and I’m not expecting you to show here because your girlfriend is smitten with you,” I replied and immediately changed into my oversized T-shirt.

Bradley walks closer to me, emphasizing his words with a stern expression: “I don’t have any feelings for Eunice, so don’t think there’s anything romantic between us.”

“Yeah, right? Anyway, what brought you into my room?” The question came out of my mouth as I tried to calm myself down since Bradley was only a few inches away from me, and I could nearly feel the heat of his body and smell the scent of his perfume.

“What, you don’t want to talk about me becoming your?” Bradley whispered, as he took my shoulder in his hands and turned me to face him.

“No,” she said, shaking her head and clasping her hands together tightly. “I just want to stay close with you like we always have, because you’re my brother.” While averting his sight, I said firmly.

“Are you sure you want to deny me as your mate?” Because of the dread I felt in Bradley’s voice, I could not respond appropriately. I could feel his hold on my shoulder harder, showing that he disagreed with my statement.

“Bradley, we shouldn’t be talking about this since we’re siblings,” I say, realizing that I cannot answer his question openly.

“We’re not related at all!” Bradley corrected my statement and looked me in the eye as he caressed my chin.

“What exactly are you doing, Bradley? Even if we are not biologically related, we are still considered siblings because your father married my mother.” I averted my gaze to go away from his face, which was so close that I could almost smell the mouthwash he was using.

“I disagree, as Zeke said earlier. We don’t share a last name because our parents want us to end up together.” Bradley’s lips were pursed in a wicked grin.

“You’ve got the wrong idea.” I couldn’t do anything but stare at Bradley’s face because he had already stopped my face from moving any farther.

“Hmm, well done, Leila,” Bradley muttered as he eased his face closer to mine.

I knew Bradley was going to kiss me, and I felt my heart quicken as I stared at him, almost tasting his lips with anticipation.

“Leila Aragon! Mom has requested to speak with you!” Zeke yells while simultaneously knocking on the door.

“Damn this kid,” Bradley muttered as he shifted his gaze away from me.

(Oh my God, what am I supposed to do?) I mutter to myself while gripping my chest and attempting to calm down.

“Zeke, what is it you need?” As soon as Bradley walked in the door, he exclaimed with joy, his voice reverberating off the walls.

“Oh, big brother! What brings you here? I’m sorry, but Mom wants Leila in the kitchen,” Zeke explained and cut off Bradley, who was blocking the door.

“Okay, I’m coming,” I said hastily, hurrying out of my room.

His words were almost lost in the silence, but I heard him clearly, “Leila, we haven’t finished talking yet.”
