Chapter 39. I Know the Way

Atticus’s POV

I don’t have to make any phone calls to find out where she is. I know the way and have known for three years. There was just nothing important enough for me to hunt her down until now. I have a chance at happiness, and I refuse to let it slip through my fingers over a mate who never wanted me in the first place.

As I cross out of Warrior Pack territory, memories flood my mind. The first time I saw Brittany was my first day at the Warrior Academy. She had come from another pack, and Hero instantly recognized her as his mate. She stepped off the bus, and the scent of Cinnamon engulfed me. I couldn’t stop myself from running to her.

She didn’t shy away from me. My size intimated most people, but not her. She looked up into my eyes and declared me her mate. It was the happiest moment of my life.

My father roomed us together, knowing we were fated mates, and we were both marked and mated within the week. Everything was perfect.
