Chapter 78. Good Morning

Eryn’s POV

I am awake, but I haven’t opened my eyes. I am enjoying being close to Atticus. I slept comfortably in Atticus’s bed. I didn’t have a single nightmare.

A trail of sparks runs down my neck, and I shiver. My eyes flicker open, and I see Atticus staring at my neck. His fingers are gently rubbing over the mark he placed there.

I stretch my arms to the side and roll into his chest. His Cedar scent seems to have gotten stronger since he marked me, and it makes a purr-like sound rumble in my chest.

Atticus chuckles and pulls me close. The sparks between us wake Thea, and she is eager to mark him in return. I can feel my fangs elongate, and my mouth waters. I am desperate to claim him like he claimed me, but I don’t want him to feel forced.

“Good morning,” he whispers huskily. “How did you sleep?”

“Fantastic. I didn’t get up to check the locks,” I yawn.
