Chapter 80. Revenge

Eryn’s POV

I am watching from the front windows. Cassie’s wolf is backing away from Kyle. Her hackles are raised, and she is ready to fight. She has been dying to sink her teeth into him since the day he turned eighteen and marked Jesse. But this isn’t her fight, and if I am honest, it isn’t Atticus’s fight either.

He told me to stay inside. He was worried the anxiety of Kyle being on our territory was too much for me to bear. But as I stare out of the window at his sorry ass, I don’t feel afraid anymore.

Atticus and Kyle are screaming at one another, but I can’t hear what is being said over the murmurs of the crowd on the porch.

Atticus leaps off the porch and shifts in mid-air. His massive black wolf lands in front of Kyle. Kyle stumbles backward and lands on the ground. Hero takes a step toward Kyle, and Kyle scrambles back. I don’t understand why he isn’t calling his wolf forward. Why isn’t he trying to fight back?
