Chapter 82. Love Do Us Apart
The sky had darkened, and the sun had set, replaced by a beautiful moonlight. The two love-struck people sat on the house's balcony while enjoying hot tea.
"I didn't expect you to come all the way here from New York," Eve said.
"I also didn't expect that I would go this far just because I was afraid of losing a woman," Gery replied honestly. He looked at the woman in front of him.
Eve blushed at that sentence; it was not as romantic as she had imagined, but it was enough to make Eve's mood warm.
"Is that true? Are you here just afraid of losing me? Or are you really afraid that no one will take care of you at the office?" Eve asked. She didn't want him to know that she was flattered by Gery's answer.
"Of course not darling. I don't mind at all if you want to take some time off, because I understand that it can't be that easy for you to accept," Gery replied. He wasn't flirting or cajoling Eve at all. He was telling the truth.
