“How were your classes, Allianna?” Tita asked me with a smile as I sat down at the dining table.
We were having dinner, and Tita was asking us about our day at school. I missed my parents even more at times like this. My Aunt and Uncle always made me feel like I was at home. But I felt sad because I missed my parents, especially our happy past.
“It was okay, Tita. The only problem was that I didn’t understand anything in today’s lesson.”
“Don’t worry, you will understand it soon enough. You are just starting, and you don’t need to rush. You will have more time to study those things.”
“That’s because you don’t listen properly. That’s why you don’t understand what is being taught. You don’t have a brain,” Demitri interjected. We all turned to look at Demitri, except for Daylon, who was quietly eating.
“Shut up, Demitri. I wasn’t talking to you, so don’t butt in.” Demitri looked at me briefly before returning his gaze to his food.
