Chapter 7
When I walked into our classroom, all eyes turned to me. The students were in the middle of class.
If only I had known this would happen. I regretted going to the first class.
I was already running late, and now this was happening. Maybe the teacher wouldn’t scold me for being late. Maybe he wouldn’t be angry.
I glanced over at our teacher, who was standing with a book in his hand, looking straight at me. Suddenly, I felt a wave of shame and embarrassment wash over me. He was looking at me differently, and so were the students.
“I almost forgot that we have a new classmate. Miss, come over here and introduce yourself,” the teacher said, surprising me with a smile.
Was he not angry at me? Why wasn’t he scolding me?
“What are you waiting for, Miss? Time is running out. Introduce yourself to the class,” the female teacher urged, and I moved away from her toward my classmates.
