I found myself back in the dark room, where the external light only entered when Marcão and his men entered the house was invaded by men dressed completely in black, masked, and armed to the teeth.
Panic coursed through my veins as I relived that moment of terror. Marcão, his face distorted by a mixture of anger and desperation, holding me tightly by the neck, a gun pointed at my head. How he managed to act so quickly, I don't know. But the feeling of pure despair that overtook me at that moment was something I couldn't forget.
