Consumed by anger, I entered Liam's guest room in the apartment, my mind filled with irritation caused by him. I had been in that apartment for days, but I couldn't think of anything as "mine." Because that wasn't true. That room wasn't mine, I reminded myself as I threw myself on the soft bed.
Living with Liam was becoming a true ordeal, and the proximity at work only increased the chances of conflicts between us. Again, I felt the bitter regret of agreeing to be Liam's fake wife when we were incompatible in every way.
However, a comforting thought came to my mind at that moment: the unbelievable amount Liam had deposited into my bank account. He had said he would pay a certain amount monthly as compensation for my help. But I never imagined having access to such a significant sum. One hundred thousand reais were completely beyond the limits and my expectations for what Liam considered a "salary" for his fake wife.
