Chapter 33. Whirlwind of Emotions

I woke up groggy the next morning and unpleasantly realized that I was quite late. Fortunately, I didn't have anything truly important scheduled for that morning, which was a relief considering my state. The hangover, both physical and moral, was terrible.
The moments with the beautiful redhead hadn't changed my awful mood at all, I realized with regret. As I left the apartment, I came face to face with Caíque, who seemed about to ring the doorbell. My day wasn't starting in a pleasant way, I thought to myself, while trying to disguise the discomfort and guilt that still haunted me.
"What are you doing here, Caíque?" I asked, not wasting time waiting for an answer. If at other times I didn't feel up to tolerating my cousin, that morning I had no intention of trying to do so. I just walked hastily towards the elevator.
