 I spent the entire morning avoiding Liam's presence. Finding out that he had been with another woman the night before left me confused and uncomfortable. Marta, sensing my desire for distance, assigned me tasks that kept me away from the executive floor. However, it was almost lunchtime, and I decided to call my friend, letting her know I would wait for her in the cafeteria.

 "You know you can't avoid Liam forever, right?" Marta pointed out wisely.
