Chapter 43. Speedboat Ride

Adriel and I were on the pier when Liam joined us, which surprised me. I thought Liam would prefer to stay in the room or maybe go play golf with the other group. However, he's here, with a clear intention to accompany us on the boat ride.

As if that wasn't surprising enough, Liam also wrapped his arm around my shoulders and kissed me tenderly, leaving me stunned. Of course, it's all part of the charade we're playing, and I should just pretend it's something normal between us. But my body refuses the logical and rational explanation for Liam's gesture and is in turmoil.

"Yes, it's going to be a very pleasant afternoon," Liam confirms Adriel's words, a cynical smile on his face.

I try to calm my emotions and focus only on the boat ride and how much I want to do it. As other people start boarding the boat, I feel the excitement take over me. However, looking around the pier, I noticed a new face joining us at the last minute: Caíque, Liam's cousin.
