Chapter 50 Turbulent Night

I woke up dazed, not fully understanding what interrupted my sleep. I soon noticed a strange movement beside me in the spacious bed, identifying it as Liam. Despite the generous distance between us in bed, his grimaces and moans revealed tangible discomfort. Watching the scene more closely, I deduced that Liam was immersed in a distressing dream, restless, which caused me terrible unease.

I was unsure how to act, but after a few seconds of observing him, I felt a certain guilt for allowing Liam to continue in that distress. I approached him and called him gently a few times, getting no response. He seemed deeply asleep.

After this subtle attempt to wake Liam, I hesitated briefly before changing my approach. I touched his shoulder more firmly, calling him with a decisive tone of voice. Liam woke up abruptly, staring at me with eyes still blurred by sleep.

“You were having a nightmare” I explained quickly “Are you okay?”
