The sea breeze carried with it the alluring scent of Leila, just as she shot me a look full of implications. It was clear that she sought more than just casual conversation. Faced with my silence – I hadn't expected something like this – Leila persisted with determination:
“Liam, don't you think it would be fun to relax?”
A growing discomfort seized me. While Leila smiled, all I could think of was how awkward the situation had become.
“The tranquility of the beach is all I need right now. Perhaps another day, who knows?” I replied, striving to maintain diplomacy in my words.
Her eyes reflected disappointment and curiosity, but Leila didn't seem willing to give up. Instead, she approached again, her steps revealing a more explicit intention now.
