Alerted by the panic in my voice, Alex leapt from his lounger.

“Alpha Elyon, what's going on?” he growled, annoyed. I stood up too, staring at my phone.

“I just got a hint from an Alpha friend that the Council will soon be investigating your relationship with Becca. There are suspicions that you are holding her here against her will.”

His mouth dropped open, his eyes almost popped out of their sockets. “The Council? Who filed a complaint against me then?” he groaned more to himself. After some thought, his face twisted in anger.
