Hearing the judge's verdict, she screamed at the top of her lungs and dropped to the floor in misery. Court officials rushed to call an ambulance to escort her to the prison infirmary, where she would stay till it was time to give birth. I felt a pang of pity for the children; to have a mother like Marelva was quite a disadvantage.
