Once we rejoin the group and immerse ourselves in the conversations, I notice Elyon casting furtive glances my way.

I'm not sure how to interpret this. I'm worried Xena will notice it too and mention it, or worse yet, curse me about it later. Today isn't going well for me, I feel like everything is making my life difficult right now.

Then a plan comes to mind.

If Alex catches me in a compromising situation with Elyon, he could end up despising me and expelling me from the pack. This would grant me freedom without any looming threats. The idea excites me, as I have nothing to lose and everything to gain by becoming a rogue or lone wolf.

Since there is no love between Alex and myself, parting ways won't be difficult for either of us. Moreover, infidelity provides an acceptable justification for rejecting a Luna. On the other hand, given the mate bond, killing me would weaken him, that's not something I need to worry about at t
