Chapter 14

Cara's POV

I sat in the cars, tears falling down my eyes, blurring my vision. I couldn't take it anymore; everything was just too much. It's like I could finally face the reality of things and the world I was about to leave behind.

"Stop the car," I whispered. The driver wasn't stopping; he kept on going, and soon I was feeling the claustophobia rising; I couldn't breathe. "Stop the fucking car!"

Instantly, the car stopped. I pushed open the door as I ran out of the car, and Rollins went after me, catching up with me.

"I just need a moment alone," I say, and slowly he lets me go.

I ran down the street and took a quick corner. When I thought I was far enough away from him, I stopped.

The street was empty, just a few passersby, all going about their business. I wonder what would happen if they knew that there were other beings living amongst them.
