Cara's POV

I was in pain, but I had to prove a point—that I wasn't just a weak mate; I had to make him believe that I wasn't as weak as he thought.

For the rest of the days, he still treated me like some fragile egg. I hated it. The scars were healing up. Matilda said they were healing up faster than normal, but she didn't deal with humans, so she couldn't tell. In a few days, it was all cleared, except for the mark on my neck that left a permanent scar. I thought the scar looked quite nice.

I hadn't left the room once in the past few days because Rollins wanted me to rest. What 'more'resting' did I need?, I was totally fine, but he still wouldn't see it, but I think I got crappier as the day went by. I wish I could say it was only because he left me locked up here; that would be a lie. I didn't want to even think of the fact that he had been physically distant. Yes,  he touched me a lot and kissed me a lot too, but he didn't go further than that. I shouldn't
