Cara's POV

The soldiers were already assembled, and they waited. The Lycans were coming,  they gave way for me when I passed by. I didn't miss the look of surprise on their faces, they didn't expect me to be here, I walked forward, standing besides Rollins.

"Hello, mate," I whispered, and his eyes tightened.

"You would have made this easier for the both of us."

"No, it won't be easier for any of us. If I die, then it would be besides you, and when I said that, I meant it."

He seemed to have given up on trying to keep me locked away; he didn't move any closer to me, and I wish he could touch me. This one time, he stood with his eyes forward, the look of a soldier; he didn't give me a single glance after that.
