Chloe’s POV
Howling laughter and casual chatter spilled over me while I perched on the rail, watching Layla.
She looked bored and uncomfortable among the music and dancing.
Perfect.
Her discomfort was my opportunity.
Layla had everything I wanted—Ezra’s trust, attention, and heart. It simmered inside of me, a bitter pain I couldn’t shake.
Tonight I would make her pay. My plan was simple, drug her, set her up, take some photos, and send the pictures to Ezra. When I was done, he would see her as the mess I wanted him to think she was.
I melted away from the crowd, my shoes clicking against the deck as I walked to the bar. The bartender was busy, hardly glancing at me as I ordered two shots of tequila.
My fingers brushed the small vial in my pocket, my heart was racing, but my hands were steady. I poured the clear liquid into one of the shots and watched it dissolve. No one would even suspect.
