A few months later, the Lycan King found himself surprised that he couldn't remember Maya despite her attempts to explain their past connection. He wasn't under the influence of alcohol, so it couldn't be attributed to memory loss from drinking. He desired to understand what had transpired between them, seeking to uncover the missing memories that seemed hazy and incomplete, as if someone had taken them away from him against his will.

No matter how much he tried to recall her, there was nothing but darkness where bright and happy memories should be. It was frustrating for him because he wanted to understand why she had left before he even knew who or what she was.
