The next day, Maya woke up early and jumped out of bed. She rushed to the bathroom to freshen up and put on her uniform. Her hair was a mess, and she hadn't even bothered to brush it yet, but she knew she had to look presentable for her job. She dressed in dark blue slacks and a matching blouse with buttons down the front. When she looked in the mirror, she noticed the bags under her eyes, a sign of the lack of sleep she had been experiencing lately.
