Chapter 52

Maya grabbed her purse and headed to the elevator. She took it down to the lobby, where she met her friend, Patty.

"Hey, girl," Patty said. "How was your date last night?"

"It was great," Maya answered.

Patty laughed and shook her head. "You're such a hopeless romantic!"

"I guess so."

"Did you hear about what happened at the club last week?" Patty asked.

"I didn't realize it had already been on the news."

"Apparently, this guy came in and started trying to pick up women. Things got out of hand, and he ended up getting stabbed. The police haven't caught the person yet, but they think it might be someone who was angry because he couldn't get laid. They say he may have killed three other guys in a bar fight earlier that night."
