The hunter gave a small shrug. "No way."

"I'm sorry to have bothered you," said the town chief, bowing his head apologetically.

The hunter didn't look like he had given up yet. His face was very serious, as if he were deep in thought about something.

"Well, that's unfortunate."

"It's really worrying for us."

"You really don't know?"

"No."

"The boy looks perfectly healthy."

"That's right."

The hunter's eyes narrowed once more. His expression had become serious again. It looked like he had suddenly figured something out.

"Have you tried eating him?"

The town chief's face went pale. "Wh-what are you talking about?!"

The townspeople stared at the visitor.

"He is just a little boy! Are you telling me to eat a child?! Even you, hunter?!"
