"Roy, I saw it with my own two eyes!" I insisted because he didn't believe me.
"Ina, Anne will never do that! You're spitting nonsense," he said angrily.
"And how can you be so sure she wouldn't do that?"
"Why would she do that in the first place? I know Anne. Stop it," he interrupted me. "We've been together for years."
I was almost fuming with frustration because he didn't believe me. "How could I lie about something like this? Besides, don't you find it strange that Anne is often sleeping in the office? How sure are you that she's really working at the office and not just staying there while you're here at home?"
"Stop accusing her, Ina. You're talking about my wife, my wife," he emphasized the word 'wife,' which made me sarcastically chuckle.
"How would I know that you don't just want to protect her and discredit me?" I retorted. If there weren't other people in the house, he probably would have been shouting at me by now. "G
