Chapter 41. Ego
I fell on top of him, and he let out a groan of pain as he opened his eyes.e
"Are you okay?" he asked, panting.
I blinked and then moved away from on top of him, helping him to sit down.
"Are you okay?" I asked him, even though it was clear that he wasn't because he was still wincing while holding his lower back.
"I'm okay," he replied.
Fortunately, we fell onto their fur carpet, so our landing wasn't too rough.
"Why did you have to pull me?" I snapped in annoyance as he continued to rub his elbow, which seemed to be the most hurt.
"If you didn't leave, I wouldn't have to pull you. I told you, I love you, but you insist that it's Anne I love."
"What's the meaning of getting drunk when you found out Auntie Anne had another man? What should I infer when you said you'd kill the guy if you ever saw him again?" I asked. "I thought it was going to be a celebration when you found out, but I guess I was wrong," I muttered to myself.
