Chapter 45. Selfish

I was just left stunned by the surprise, and I looked down at myself. I felt a sense of shrinking within me. I couldn't bring myself to speak. It was as if my voice and my thoughts had been taken away from me after she said that. I could sense the outcome of this meeting.

"You, Anne. I'm going to ask you. If you were in my situation and someone knew that I was with another woman, what would you do?" he asked his wife.

"Of course, you'd drink. You'd get drunk because you'd want to forget it if you really loved someone. Anne, if you love someone so much, you don't know what you would do. It feels incredibly painful, and that's what I felt when I found out you were with another man besides me... besides your husband," Roy replied with a trembling voice.

"I'll admit, I got drunk, but... Anne, you should have confronted me right away! You didn't even ask me first!"

"I didn't know anything; your maid seduced me! I was drunk and not in my right mind when I got home!
