Chapter 39. Cheating
"I was still processing what I had seen when they left. The car drove away, taking my wife away... from me," he said, almost sobbing.
I couldn't stand seeing him cry like this. As much as I wanted to look away, I remained standing in front of him, looking at him like a candle slowly melting and collapsing to the floor.
"All this time, you were right," he said, turning to me. "I was mad at you right after you confronted me about Anne cheating on me, I admit," he confessed.
"I thought you were just doing it to tarnish Anne's reputation with me because I also noticed that you sometimes seemed jealous of Anne when we were together."
"I'm not that kind of person, Roy. If you really know me, you wouldn't think I would do that just for your attention."
"Fuck life. Damn it," he said as if he couldn't believe what he had just learned.
If he's hurting right now, I'm feeling double or even triple the pain. This wasn't the reaction I expected from him.
